If you ask most Christians, what is the ‘Pillar and Foundation of Truth?; they would answer, ‘the bible, of course!’.

If Christians put all their faith in the bible; it is not only wrong, it is unbiblical!
The theory of ‘sola scriptura’ (the bible alone) cannot be found anywhere in the bible. The inspired Word of God (bible) comes to us with no table of contents, and therefore needs authority outside of the pages of the bible to verify it. This authority is The Church. Jesus did not authorize or sign any copies of the Bible, but He did give authority to the apostles.
In talking to Peter, Jesus said ““…and on this rock I will build My church…” - Matt 16:18
Catholics agree with Protestants that Scripture is a "standard of truth"—even the preeminent one—but not in a sense that rules out the binding authority of authentic apostolic Tradition and the Church.
And since the Church ‘Pre-Dates’ the Bible by almost 400 years…
The Church’s Tradition and Authority cannot be ignored.
